Spirit AeroSystems came to us with a dual challenge: to attract and retain experienced engineers, critical-skills employees and entry-level, hourly workers. Wichita’s renowned aviation workforce is aging and fewer young people are stepping up to replace them. The same skills shortage is true nationwide.
We shifted through labor statistics. Identified key audiences. Conducted interviews. Developed strategic messages. Identified brand-engagement channels and tactics. Outlined partnerships with the military and schools. Planned an internal campaign with referral incentives and tools to make Spirit’s 12,000 employees a recruitment force. Developed a dynamic microsite and video. Suggested media pitch tactics. Developed creative for job fairs and special events. Planned media buys. Spurred word of mouth.
Our campaign creative – Dream Big. Make It Fly. – appealed to doers. The contrail shape reinforced the design, build, fly process. Copy encouraged engineers to “Put your brains in our planes.” positioning Spirit as a fresh, future-forward company. Just what you want in an employer.
