The Kansas Health Foundation’s forward-thinking 20-year strategic plan and assessment of its past 20 years’ accomplishments led to a comprehensive brand evaluation. Since its founding with the sale of Wesley Medical Center in 1985, this philanthropy’s assets had grown to $483 million with approximately $23 million paid out annually. Its grants target four funding areas: children’s health, public health, leadership and policy.
Graphic standards for a fresh brand platform promote consistency and ensure that the Foundation’s communications are as strategic as its grantmaking. We refreshed the icon and wordmark and developed usage guidelines for the signature, color palette, typography, writing style, photography, collateral, advertising, interactive and subbrands. The people-focused brand now better projects who the Foundation is and its brand promise: to improve the health of all Kansans.
The Kansas Health Foundation is looking for long-term ways to improve the health of all Kansans. This creative and unexpected campaign takes a deep dive into the importance of early-childhood development by showing instead of telling. We created a toolbox of materials including a microsite, brochures, digital ads, displays and a set of flashcards loaded with information, education and exercises. The campaign, filled with practical and fun games, stories and songs provides hours of ideas for anyone tasked with engaging, and entertaining the mind of a child.
