As part of our digital team, the web developer is responsible for close collaboration with our creative and brand management teams as well as clients to build and launch responsive websites with best UX/UI and accessibility practices in mind.
The web developer should have a thorough knowledge of programming languages and a problem-solving mindset to identify and implement solutions and imagine better ways.
While most projects require front-end WordPress experience, partnering with client IT departments to develop more complex databases and APIs requires backend development knowledge. In addition to web development work, this individual may be asked to assist with internal IT challenges such as troubleshooting Apple devices, setting up conference rooms and server maintenance with our network engineer.

Works closely with the digital director, senior web developer and creative staff to implement digital strategies.
Build clean coded web pages using proper syntax and best performance practices in mind.
Working through the stages of website development by setting up development sites, creating databases, populating prototypes with client content, adding style sheets, polishing and refining responsive elements.
Perform cross-browser testing (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, iOS, Android).
Ability to shift between website projects to debug, apply fixes and make changes as needed.
Assist with internal IT challenges as they arise.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
1-3 years of programming and developing with Content Management Systems (WordPress, Craft, etc)
3-5 working examples of creative programming solutions (submit with resume)
Team player with strong communication skills who strives to share knowledge by learning and teaching
Ability to balance high quality work standards against time constraints
Physical: Ability to focus for sustained periods, use computer and telephone, perform repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement, occasionally move objects up to 15 pounds, and see clearly at 20 inches or less.
NICE TO HAVE
- Knowledge of Advanced Custom Fields WordPress plugin
- Building user-based interfaces
- Experience in Git and version tracking
- Familiarity of responsive front-end frameworks (Foundation)
- Knowledge of implementing accessibility best practices
