Brand Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

The brand manager is responsible for the daily contact between the agency and assigned client accounts. The brand manager interfaces with the various departments of the agency to move things through on behalf of the client. This includes meeting with the creative director concerning creative issues and input, the media buyer concerning media issues, the executive vice president concerning publicity and newsmaking and the production manager concerning scheduling and timing.

Brand managers have major input in helping develop strategic marketing plans for their clients. After the plan has been developed and presented to the client, the brand manager has the responsibility of carrying the plan out on a daily basis.

Brand managers are primarily service personnel and most of their time will be servicing their present accounts. They are also expected to be constantly vigilant for new business opportunities and to report these to the executive vice president. The brand managers also represent the agency at public functions and are expected to make introductions, provide business cards and basically sell the agency to others. Reports to the executive vice president.

DUTIES

Meets regularly with creative director/production manager/media/public relations to coordinate agency efforts on behalf of assigned clients/accounts.

Receives client briefings. Fills out creative briefs for all client meetings and distributes to appropriate agency personnel. Quickly and accurately relays client change orders to all appropriate agency personnel.

Effectively presents and sells agency work/proposals to clients. Supports other client service team members in same.

Keeps apprised of clients’ products, services, marketing developments and trade publications.

Assists in preparation of client invoices, proposals, marketing/media/PR planning.

Checks and approves creative/productions materials, copy, layouts, and production art, and coordinates client approval of same.

Coordinates project timing and budgets with all relevant agency personnel.

Actively seeks additional projects/new business from client contacts.

Keeps apprised of clients’ projects through production manager or other relevant personnel.

Required Experience and Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Preference given to candidates with 3-5 years’ agency, aviation and digital experience.
