Renew Kansas identity selected for inclusion in LogoLounge

06.15.17 • Greteman Group

WICHITA, Kan. – An identity developed by Greteman Group will be featured in the upcoming LogoLounge Book 10. It was one of 40,000 logos reviewed by an international judging panel comprised of such leading designers as Andreas Karl, Aaron Draplin, Von Glitschka, Alex Tass, Chad Michael, Yo Santosa, Emily Oberman, Su Mathews Hale, Felix Sockwell and Alex Trochut.

The chosen logo grew out of a rebranding for the Kansas Association of Ethanol Processors. Greteman Group helped rename the organization Renew Kansas to emphasize ethanol’s renewable quality and the revitalizing effect ethanol production can have on the state. The name is broad enough to encompass other biofuels that the group promotes.

“This friendlier, more-accessible identity energizes our efforts to connect with Kansas citizens and promote higher-ethanol-blend gasoline such as E15,” says Renew Kansas CEO Tom Tunnell. “Our refreshed brand strengthens both our statewide and legislative outreach. Renewable fuels benefit Kansas.”

The logo evokes agricultural, environmental and economic renewal – reinforced by the tagline, Biofuels for the Future. The full brand pulls it all together to promote sustainability and beneficial use: clean, green, efficient, smart, proven, trustworthy – renewable. The circular mark is comprised of three sections. The lower, green areas represent leaves, while yellow-to-orange waves emanate from the center like a flowering grain. A bead of liquid energy drips from the sphere suggesting an ongoing, renewable stream.

“We design our identities to be contemporary yet timeless,” says Sonia Greteman, agency president and creative director. “Our work for Renew Kansas is a case in point.”
