German engineer and aviation trailblazer Otto Lilienthal once said: "To invent an airplane is nothing. To build one is something. To fly is everything."

Agency CEO and creative director Sonia Greteman shares a similar philosophy. "Awards and great work are ‘something,'" she says, "but results are ‘everything.'"

Whether the challenge is increasing a client's marketshare, reframing an issue or connecting with new audiences, Sonia helps her team achieve maximum altitude. Challenging writers and designers. Spurring them to dig deeper, think smarter. Keeping strategy front and center. She sets the direction for the agency, while empowering team members to spread their wings.

She's there for clients, as well. Long ago Sonia decided to focus on serving a select group of clients rather than be all things to all people. That steady, managed growth means clients don't get lost in the shuffle. They know their service team – and that Sonia's directly involved.

Two decades of helping build some of the world's best-known brands has put Sonia in demand. Reporters frequently call, asking her to weigh in on issues and trends. She routinely jets to national competitions and conferences to serve as a judge or guest lecturer. Her ability to work as a team increases those frequent-flyer miles, too. She serves on multidisciplinary teams consisting of elected officials, architects, urban planners, engineers, graphic designers and marketing professionals. Most are men. She not only earns their respect, time and again she's asked to serve in positions of leadership. She spearheads the creative element of several such teams across the country.

The drive that helps fuel the agency also permeates Sonia's personal life. When she's not at the office, she and her husband, sculptor Chris Brunner, are always creating – whether it's new elements for their garden or concepts for a public art project. Sonia works tirelessly to promote culturally rich and visually satisfying environments, especially in her hometown of Wichita. And to give back to the community that's been so good to her.

Sonia believes that we're here to live life with passion. She does nothing by half measures. In addition to her work and tremendous civic and charitable support, Sonia strives for a life of balance by practicing yoga and Pilates. She also works hard to create a positive atmosphere at work. Her laugh can often be heard from one end of the building to another. Reminding us all that it's easier to fly when your spirits are light.
