Ashley Cook
Aviation is in Ashley Bowen Cook’s blood. But not her stomach. The daughter of acclaimed aviation photographer, Paul Bowen, Ashley was in fifth grade when she accompanied her high-flying dad on a photo shoot for a brand new corporate jet. They were doing touch-and-go's, which involve a brief touchdown on the runway followed by a rapid climb. Shortly after the jet made its third touch and go, Ashley experienced sudden and severe nausea – all over the fresh-out-of-the-factory aircraft. Paul never guessed that his photo shoot would turn out to be in Technicolor that morning!

Despite that inauspicious flight, Ashley's career has been gaining altitude ever since. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Journalism and Business Communications (including study abroad in France and Italy), Ashley worked in public relations for Bombardier Learjet, and then joined Bombardier Flexjet in Dallas. As a marketing coordinator, she was responsible for organizing marketing events and promotions, coordinating direct mail advertising and newsletters, and serving as one of Flexjet's primary points of contact with Greteman Group. That's when we saw firsthand Ashley's meticulous attention to detail, project management abilities and stellar people skills. It sure worked on us.

When her husband, Josh, accepted a position as an assistant golf pro at the Wichita Country Club, prompting the couple's move back to Wichita, we saw our chance. We asked Ashley to join us an account executive to act as the primary liaison with some of our largest clients, representing several different industries, including non-profit and aviation. It's been no surprise that Ashley excels at making clients' needs the number-one priority. Her experience on the "client side" gives her an invaluable perspective on the everyday demands of business and the critical importance of deadlines.

Ashley’s also long over her airborne queasiness. She even took flying lessons in college, logging 35 hours and passing ground school. Other priorities intervened and her quest for the left seat is currently on hold, but she still loves airplanes and all things aviation.

In fact, she is fulfilling a promise she made to herself in college. Says Ashley, "I wanted to try new, unfamiliar territories outside aviation, so no one would say, 'Oh, your Paul Bowen’s daughter.' Now I get to do it all, while still staying in touch with my roots – and I couldn’t be more proud."
